Cascadia Composers presents an elegant evening of artsong, contemporary classical, and theater, with a sprinkling of jazz. Video release of "The Concert - a song cycle of poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay", showcasing the many sides of Millay, herself an avid concert goer and woman-ahead-of-her-time. Performed by soprano Gabrielle Widman and pianist Sequoia. After the video they will perform various pieces of their choice live - from Charles Ives, Geoff Smith, and Kevin Bryant Lay. Kate Petak will perform four pieces for harp, three of them with Gabrielle singing. Plus a few surprises....
We're filming "The Concert" November 4th performance and figure a month will be enough to get it ready for you, on December 4th, 3PM PDT. Streaming tickets will remain on sale through the end of 2022.
